Mizoram’s COVID-19 count crossed 1 lakh mark on Wednesday as 1471 more people have tested positive for novel coronavirus, an official said. 

The death toll rose to 335 as 4 more people have succumbed to the infection, he said. 

The state COVID-19 tally now stands at 1,01,327, of which 16,005 are active, he said. 

With 1,369 people on Tuesday, as many as 84,987 people have recovered from the infection, he said. 

The new 1,471 Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday is 210 less than the previous day, while the positivity rate dipped to 15.36 per cent from the previous day 18 per cent, he said. 

With the new cases at least 92 persons per 1000 population have been already infected with COVID-19.

The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients is 83.87 per cent and the death rate is 0.33 per cent. 

The state has conducted more than 11.40 lakh sample tests for COvid-19, including 9,577  on Tuesday. 

Over 6.83 lakh people have been vaccinated of which 4.55 lakh people have received full dose of Covid-19 vaccine till Tuesday, state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi said. 

According to government bulletin, Aizawl district has so far reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 64,589, followed by Lunglei district at 7,577 and Kolasib district at 7,177. 

Of the 335 COVID-19 fatalities, Aizawl district reported the highest at 249, followed by Kolasib (21) and Lawngtlai (21), it said. 

Of the 11 districts of the state, Khawzawl has not reported any COVID-19 death till now, it said.

Meanwhile, a four-member central team, which arrived on Tuesday, will hold a meeting with chief medical officers of all districts via video conference to review the COVID-19 situation of their respective districts today (Wednesday). 

The team led by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) consultant-epidemiologist Dr Vinita Gupta, will also visit Champhai district near the Myanmar border, on Thursday.
