Assam scientist Dr Binoy Kumar Saikia of CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat has won the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, 2021.
Scientists Dr Saikia has been conferred the award in the Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences category.
MyGov Assam has congratulated Dr Binoy Kumar Saikia for being honoured with the prestigious prize.

According to sources, Dr. Binoy Kumar Saikia is the first scientist from the CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat to win the award.
Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology is the top-most award in scientific research in India.
The CSIR-NEIST family has congratulated Dr Saikia for achieving success.
While congratulating Dr Saikia, CSIR-NEIST director G Narahari Sastry in a Facebook post wrote: “Hearty Congratulation to Dr. Binoy Kumar Saikia on winning the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize (SSB) for Science and Technology 2021 (Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences). He is the first scientist from CSIR-NEIST to win this prestigious Award, which is the top most Award in the Scientific Research India.
