The NSCN led GPRN has asked 11 MLAs of Tirap, Changlang & Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh to withdraw support to the Pema Khandu-led BJP Government.

โ€œNSCN/GPRN hereby strongly condemns the illegal and imprudent move by Government of India to erase the word โ€˜NAGAโ€™ in the Naga areas of the so-called state of Arunachal Pradesh.

โ€œGoI, in connivance with Arunachal Government and some corrupt Naga leaders, has work out to remove โ€˜Any Naga tribeโ€™ and recognised Tangsa, Tutsa, Nocte and Wancho as separate identity under her constitution,โ€ a letter issued by the outfit said.

โ€œThis is a blatant insult to the on-going Naga struggle and clearly indicates that India has wilfully undermines and ignored the legitimate right, identity and history of the Naga people,โ€ the letter added.

The letter, dated September 15, said for thousands of years, Nagas proudly and peacefully inhabited their present land in the so-called states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland and Assam and Eastern (Myanmar).

โ€œThey (the Nagas) have never known foreign power till the British set foot on their land in the early 1830s and fought tooth and nail to defend every inch of their country,โ€ it said.

The outfit pointed out that after the British left in 1947 both India and Burma applied the same colonial policies and forcibly enter and occupied the Naga country which led to an armed confrontation till today.

โ€œIndiaโ€™s continual refusal to โ€œhonour and recognised the legitimate Naga cause is a flagrant violation of UN Security Council resolutions and also questions her solemn commitment to International laws,โ€ said NSCN.

It said that the word โ€˜NAGAโ€™ is what literally binds Nagas together as one people and we will never give up for anything in the world.

โ€œAs much as NSCN/GPRN opposes Indiaโ€™s hegemony, we will continue to reject and fight all of her discriminatory laws in our country,โ€ said the outfit.

โ€œEvery Naga tribe has a special responsibility to come together and denounce such divisive move which is a grave danger to our on-going struggle. All those Naga MLAs and leaders who supported the illegal bill will be held accountable and will be level as anti-Naga,โ€ the letter said.
