Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) Principal Dr Sanjib Kakoti was on Saturday airlifted to Guwahati after his health condition deteriorated.
He was taken to Guwahati from Dibrugarh in an air ambulance.
Dr Kakoti tested Covid19 positive recently and was undergoing treatment at the Super Speciality Block of the AMCH for the last few days.
Talking to Northeast Now, AMCH superintendent Dr Prasanta Dihingia said, “We have shifted Dr Sanjib Kakoti to Guwahati after his health deteriorated.”
“He was shifted from AMCH in an air ambulance to Guwahati. A team of senior doctors was constantly monitoring his health condition in the Super Speciality Block of AMCH.”
As per the plan, he was supposed to be shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi but due to his deteriorated health condition, he was immediately shifted to Guwahati.
Everybody is praying for his speedy recovery and good health after the news of Dr Kakoti spread on social media.
State agriculture minister Atul Bora visited the AMCH at Dibrugarh on Friday to enquire about the health condition of Dr Kakoti.
On Friday, a total of 1,893 tests were conducted and out of that 9 Covid19 positive cases were detected in Dibrugarh.
