Assam Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sushmita Dev has claimed that people in Tripura want the TMC to grow in the state.
TMC leader Sushmita Dev, who is on a 15-day visit to Tripura, said that people of the state want TMC to grow and counter the ruling BJP.
However, she said that path to strengthening the party in Tripura would be a challenging one.
“People in Tripura wants the TMC to grow stronger. However, path to building the party here would be a challenging one,” Sushmita Dev said.
Sushmita Dev said that the BJP made a host of promises ahead of the last Assembly elections in Tripura in 2018, but failed to fufill any during the last three years.

“TMC has entered into the political arena of Tripura to fight the BJP and end misrule,” Sushmita Dev added.
She said that the Left parties and the Congress are ‘inactive’ in Tripura.
She further questioned the BJP on “regular attack” on TMC workers by activists of the saffron party.
Sushmita Dev and senior TMC leader Bratya Basu arrived at Agartala in Tripura on a 15-day tour to strengthen the party.
On Thursday, Sushmita Dev also visited the Tripureshwari Temple in Tripura’s Udaipur.
