India’s Boxing Star Lovlina Borgohain was felicitated by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) for her outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Fulfilling her personal wish, the crude and natural gas major ONGC will build a personal gymnasium for the Olympic medallist as a token of recognition for her unflinching commitment.

“Lovlina is the only third Indian boxer to win a medal at the Olympics. She will go down in history as one of India’s greatest Olympians and boxers of all time. Youth is on her side and many more International laurels are awaiting for her,” ONGC said in a statement.

She is on the verge to go for a rigorous training program to prepare for the coming World Championship.

Expressing great pride and happiness, Sushma Rawat, Executive Director, Assam & Assam Arakan Basin, Jorhat, ONGC said, “We are extremely proud of Lovlina’s achievement. She, being from our operational area, we consider her, our very own. Her victory is an inspiration to all of us, to never give up till we achieve our goal.”

“As a token of appreciation, we are happy to fulfil her wish by building a personal gymnasium and associated infrastructure to allow her to practice properly during her time at home. This can also be used by other upcoming talents and potential medal winners from her village,” she said.
