In yet another incident of an attack on a woman over rejection of a love proposal, a 24-year-old girl was stabbed by a jilted lover at Changsari on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The victim, a resident of Bherbheri Bil Village in Darrang district, suffered multiple injuries and is recuperating in the hospital.

She was admitted to Tularam Bafna Civil Hospital at Amingaon in a critical condition and later shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.
Police have arrested the accused, identified as Imran Hussain and registered a case at Changsari police under relevant sections of the IPC.
“The victim is out of danger. She suffered multiple lacerations on her hand, cheek and back. We have taken the accused into custody,” said a police official.

The incident took place on the day, when a 20-year-old college student from Dhemaji, who sustained grievous injuries in an attack by her jilted lover, succumbed to her injuries.
