The CPI-M North District Committee on Wednesday took out a rally at Dharmanagar with its 13-point charter of demands.
The rally started from the party office at Dharmanagar and passed through several parts of the town before culminating at the DM’s office. The CPI-M supporters and office-bearers submitted a memorandum to DM Saradendu Chowdhury.
The party strongly condemned the unleashing of unprecedented violence and arson by the RSS and BJP all across the state of Tripura in the aftermath of their victory in the recent assembly election.
“CPI-M and Left Party offices and cadres are targetted with murderous assaults. The destruction of the statue of Lenin exposes the anti-democratic fascist character of the RSS,” the party said.
These attacks clearly demonstrate, once again, that the RSS and BJP rely mainly on unleashing political violence as means to advance their inherent anti-democratic agenda, the party alleged.
Former MLA Amitabha Datta, MLA Rajendra Reang, former Minister Bijita Nath along with others participated in the rally.
