A two-year-old female leopard was successfully rescued by a forest team at the Jalan tea estate in Dibrugarh on Wednesday morning.

โ€œThe leopard got trapped last night at the Jalan tea estate and we rescued the leopard this morning. No major or minor injury has been found on her body,โ€ said a forest official.

Pranjal Baruah, a forest range officer in Dibrugarh, said, โ€œWe have kept the leopard under the observation of veterinary doctor and on Wednesday morning, the animal was released in the wild,โ€

โ€œFor the past several days, the leopard was spotted in the tea garden and the tea workers feared to go to the tea estate for plucking leaves,โ€ the forest official said.

โ€œThe tea garden management and tea workers complained to us about the straying of the leopard in the tea garden.โ€

โ€œWe placed a cage inside the tea garden and last night it was trapped inside the iron cage,โ€ informed the forest range officer.

โ€œEarlier, we caged a big leopard from the same area.โ€

โ€œThe leopard was spotted in the area for many a time. Another leopard is still present in the area and we will soon trap the leopard,โ€ Baruah said.
