Almost 20% of the deaths due to Covid19 infection in Meghalaya are cases of โ€˜brought deadโ€™ to the hospital, revealed National Health Mission (NHM) Meghalaya on Saturday.

Sharing the information, the NHM Meghalaya in a tweet on Saturday said due to delay in testing for the virus and availing early treatment, 20% of the infected patients lose their lives on the way to the hospital and they are declared โ€œbrought deadโ€.

The NHM Meghalaya has urged the people to get tested for Covid19 immediately if they have any symptoms.

It has requested the people to call 14410 for help.

โ€œAlmost 20% of deaths due to COVID-19 in Meghalaya are brought dead to the hospital due to the delay in testing and early treatment. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19, get tested immediately. Call 14410 for help,โ€ NHM Meghalaya tweeted.

Meghalaya on Saturday reported 8 more Covid19 deaths and 231 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, Meghalayaโ€™s Covid19 positive tally increased to 73,448 on Saturday.

On Saturday, a total of 460 people, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the disease on Saturday.

With these, a total of 69,043 people have recovered from the deadly disease in the state so far.

The disease has claimed the lives of a total of 1,269 people in Meghalaya.

Currently, Meghalaya has 3,136 active Covid19 patients.
