The Indian Handball team has won IHF challenger Trophy against Pakistan at Pakistan’s Faisalabad under coach Asish Kar who hails from the Northeast Indian state of Tripura.
The IHF challenger Trophy is a Central and South Asian Tournament which took place from March 10-15.
India has won both the Under-19 as well as the Under-21 championship. India stood first while Pakistan and Bangladesh got second and third positions in the tournament.
Speaking to media, Asish Kar said that his next mission is the 5th South Asian Games.
According to details, in Juniors category, Indian team played five matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan and Maldives in the tournament and won all the matches, reports TNT.
It scored 10 points by bagging 206 goals against 103 goals of its rival teams and stood first. In youth category, Indian team stood first with 8 points by winning all the four matches. It scored 213 goals against 76 goals of its rivals.
