Four cadres of the Yung Aung faction of NSCN-K have been apprehended by the security forces in Assam’s Tinsukia district. 

A nearly 24-hour joint operation by troopers of the Assam Rifles and police in the Tinkopani Reserve Forest near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border led to arrest of the four NSCN-KYA cadres. 

“During the operation four cadres of NSCN-KYA/ENNG namely Osa Gangsa, Pumla Pansa, Panglang Gangsa and Jangang Patadam were apprehended,” a statement read. 

Following interrogation, the arrested NSCN-KYA cadres revealed location where a huge cache of arms and ammunition were hidden.

“The ops team reached the place on being led by the apprehended cadres and recovered 3(three) numbers of MQ 81 Assault Rifles, 294 live rounds, 7 magazines, 3 mobile phones and other camp materials,” the statement added. 

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case has been launched.
