A massive 8.2 magnitude earthquake jolted the Alaskan peninsula in the United States and parts of Canada at 11:45am IST on Thursday.
The earthquake resulted in issuance of a Tsunami alert across the Alaskan Peninsula.
However, as per latest inputs, the Tsunami alert has been lifted.
12:35 AM AKDT update: the tsunami warning has been lifted, but is still an advisory from Samalga Pass to Hinchinbrook Entrance (90 miles E of Seward).
Aftershocks have been occurring & are expected to continue, and we will post about significant events.

The earthquake hit 91 kilometers southeast of the town of Perryville in Kentucky state of United States.
Perryville is a small village around 800 kilometres Alaska’s biggest city of Anchorage.
A Tsunami alert has already been issued for south Alaska and the Alaskan peninsula.
At least five aftershocks have been recorded with the largest being of 6.2 magnitude.

Damage to public and pprivate properties have been reported from various cities along the Alaskan coast.
Meanwhile, the US administration has started mass evacuation of population residing along the coastal cities, town and villages.
