Police have seized a huge quantity of Heroin from a private car in East Karbi Anglong on Sunday.
As per reports, the Dillai police intercepted a Maruti Swift car in the Dillai Tiniali area and on checking the vehicle, 10 Soap case containing 120 grams of heroin were recovered from the vehicle.
The drugs were kept concealed under the rear seat and it was difficult to detect from outside.
The development came a day after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma took part in a drug disposal event organized by Karbi Anglong police in Diphu on Saturday.
Police have so far seized drugs worth Rs 163 crore in the district.
Police have arrested one person identified as Ikramul Hussain in connection with the case. Hussain is a resident of Moirabari in Morigaon district.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Hussain bought the drugs from Dimapur in Nagaland and was taking it to Moirabari for purpose of resale. Further investigations are on.
