The Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department is looking to fast track vaccination of shopkeepers and vendors on priority basis.
Principal Director of Nagaland health department Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao, in an order, has asked the chief medical officer and medical superintendents of all the districts to take necessary steps to ensure fast track vaccination of the shopkeepers and vegetable vendors on priority.
Khimiao also directed all the health workers in both public and private hospitals who have not been vaccinated to produce Covid-19 negative test certificate after every 15 days as and when they are to report for duties to ensure safety of patients, co-workers and the community.
He further instructed the District Task Force of respective districts to ensure that the private hospitals follow the directions.

Meanwhile, Nagaland, on Wednesday, recorded two more COVID-19 deaths and 109 fresh positive cases.
There were also 49 recoveries during the day.
The Health and Family Welfare Department said that Dimapur registered 25 new cases, Kohima – 55, Mokokchung – 23, Mon – 1, Peren – 3 and Wokha – 2.
Of the 49 recoveries, Dimapur reported 7, Kohima – 27, Longleng – 1, Mokokchung – 5, Mon – 4 and Phek – 5.

Meanwhile, the State Task Force Committee for Paediatric Management held a meeting in Kohima on Wednesday to review the State’s preparedness for the anticipated Covid-19 3rd wave.
The meeting was attended by State Health and Family Welfare Department officials and paediatricians of private hospitals.
