The newly-appointed and 19th Governor of Tripura, Satyadev Narayan Arya, arrived in Agartala on Monday afternoon.
Chief secretary Kumar Alok, director general of police VS Yadav and West Tripura district magistrate Devapriya Bardhan welcomed the Tripura Governor with a wreath at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala.
Members of the Governor’s family were also with him.
The newly-appointed Governor and his family came to the Raj Bhawan from the airport.
On arrival at the Raj Bhawan, newly-appointed Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya was welcomed with a guard of honour.
Arya was also welcomed at the Raj Bhavan by chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma, revenue minister NC Debbarma, education minister Ratan Lal Nath, social welfare and social education minister Santana Chakma, Assembly Speaker Rebati Mohan Das and MP Rebati Tripura.
High officials of the state administration were also present at the Raj Bhavan to welcome the Governor.
President Ram Nath Kovind recently appointed Satyadeo Narayan Arya as the 19th new Governor of Tripura replacing outgoing Governor Ramesh Baism, who has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand.
The newly-appointed Tripura Governor said he would work for the progress and development of Tripura and the people of Tripura and called on all to join the process.
