The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) on Monday announced a special assessment scheme for Class X and XII exams in the 2022-22 academic session.
The development comes a month after the board was forced to cancel Class X and XII examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to CBSE, its new academic session would be divided into two terms with 50 per cent of the course syllabus in each term.
Exams for the first term will be held in November-December and for the second term in March-April.
The board also announced it would “rationalise” its syllabus for Classes X and XII.
The new syllabus would be notified by the end of July, the board said.
“Efforts will be made to make internal assessment and project work more credible and valid,” said the Central board.
The development comes after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted board examinations for two successive years—2019-20 and 2020-21.
