Two youths were killed in a road mishap on National Highway 17 in western Assam’s Dhubri district on Monday.

Police said the accident took place near Bidyadabari village under Golakganj police station of the district.

The two youths were riding on a bike with but the duo fall off the two-wheeler and hit a stationary truck on NH-17.

The deceased were identified as Raqibul Hussain Jamadar and Saikhul Islam, both are residents of Pawarcharra village under Agomani police station in Dhubri district.

They were on their way to their village riding on a motorcycle bearing Registration no AS-17K 8869

According to locals, they suffered serious head injuries, probably due to the impact of hitting the vehicle in full force.

It is not clear whether the victims were wearing helmets or not.

The bodies were handed over to the families following the post mortem examination, police said.
