Tripura secured the top position among 35 states and union territories with 98% coverage in regards to vaccination for 45 years and above population in State.
Mission Director of National Health Mission, Tripura – Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal on Friday confirmed that 98% of the population ageing above 45 years i.e. 9.69 lakh people in the State have been vaccinated.
“Among the population between 18-44 years of age, 6.91 lakh people have been vaccinated. That is 50% have been vaccinated in Tripura,” said Dr Jaiswal.
Briefing the media in Agartala on Friday, the NHM Tripura Mission Director said that 100% of the frontline workers comprising of doctors, healthcare staff, police personnel and media persons have been vaccinated across the state.

Moreover, 100% population in seven Rural Development blocks in the state have been vaccinated, he said.
Dr Jaiswal said: “So far 23,69,934 people have been vaccinated in the state. Of these, 18,10,439 people have received the first jab of vaccine. Meanwhile, 5,59,495 people have also received the second jab of vaccine.”
Thus far, 53,543 health care workers in the state have been given the first jab of the vaccine. 39,241 health care workers received the second jab of vaccine.
