The Dibrugarh district has recorded a gradual decline in Covid-19 cases in the past few days.

The positivity rate has come down to 2 per cent in the district.

A total of 10095 samples were tested in the district on Tuesday, of which 230 tested positive for Covid-19.

Dibrugarh district surveillance officer of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme Nabajyoti Gogoi said, โ€œThe trend of Covid-19 positive cases has been decreasing in Dibrugarh in the last few days. The positivity rate is 2 per cent now.โ€

โ€œThe virus has already infected 40 per cent of the population in the district. The people should maintain all Covid-19 protocols like wearing masks and using hand sanitizers,โ€ Gogoi said.

The virus has so far claimed 212 lives in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

โ€œThe cases has been slow downed as people chose to follow the guidelines issued by the government to curb the rising cases of Covid-19. We have done enough test to detect the infection,โ€ said a health official.
