With the arrival of the monsoon, torrential rains set to lash the Northeastern statesโ€”Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

The IMD has said wet weather conditions are brought by the strengthening of south-westerly winds, along with the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and its neighbouring parts, The Weather Channel reported.

Therefore, heavy rainfall activity has been forecast over the Northeast during the next 3-4 days.
