Tension prevails in Jinkata village under Golakganj police station in lower Assam’s Dhubri district following recovery of pieces of meat inside the premises of Sashan Kali Temple on Friday. 

Following this, the locals gathered near the temple in large numbers and demanded immediate arrest of whosoever involved. 

As per the locals, a miscreant threw some pieces of meat triggering tension in the area.  

Police, meanwhile, have swung into action and began investigation after being informed about the incident.

Locals have said that there is a meat shop nearby. Locals are now suspecting that the piece of meat might have been procured by the miscreant from the meat shop. 

People in the area are now demanding dismantling of the meat shop immediately. 

Meanwhile, additional Superintendent of Police – Rosyrani Sarma have informed that the situation is now under control. 

Efforts are on to nab the culprits, police informed.
