The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway successfully rescued a minor girl from train during regular checks in trains.
“The RPF team of NF Railway also recovered Chinese toys and stolen railway materials in the month of May. The RPF also apprehended one person involved in stealing railway materials,” NF Railway chief public relations officer Subhanan Chanda informed.
Chanda informed that the CPDS (Crime Prevention and Detection Squad) team of RPF/Alipurduar received an information from sources that one minor girl had fled away from Yamuna Nagar, Haryana by train towards Guwahati.
An FIR was lodged at Yamuna Nagar police station under section 365 IPC on May 28, 2021.
The CPDS team swung into action as soon as the information was received.
“During search, the said minor girl was rescued from Train No. 05956 UP (Brahmaputra Mail Special) and de-boarded at next stoppage Gossaigaon Hat Railway Station,” Chanda said.
After Covid test of rescued girl, she was brought to the RPF post at Kokrajhar.
On questioning, she disclosed her identity as resident of Guriarpar, Tufanganj PS under Cooch Behar district in West Bengal. She also stated that she lives with her family at Yamuna Nagar in Haryana.
On May 28, 2021, she fled away from Yamuna Nagar along with her friend, a resident of Purba Falimari village under Boxirhat PS in Cooch Behar district.
During the journey, her boyfriend sensing trouble had fled away from train in the night of May 30, 2021.
After completing all legal formalities, the rescued girl was handed over to Child care NGO ‘Sakhi’ at Kokarajhar under supervision of IPF/Kokrajhar, the NF Railway CPRO informed.
In another incident, on May 30, 2021, a CIB team of RPF/Alipurduar conducted a raid and search in the scrap shop of Nur Jamal Ali, son of Joyad Ali at Alipurduar Birpara ITI, near Sepo bazar under Alipurduar police station of Alipurduar district for stolen railway materials with the help of RPF/Post/Alipurduar and local police.
During raid and search, railway materials includes 4 Gutkas of crossing line, 20 bridge clips, 1 ERC and 4 hook bolts were recovered from the shop.
All the recovered materials were seized and owner of the scrap shop was taken into custody and brought to RPF post at Alipurduar. In this connection, a case was registered under RP (UP) Act.
In an incident on May 15, 2021, CPDS and CIB team of Alipurduar conducted checking at New Alipurduar Railway Station. On arrival of Train No. 02377 UP (Padatik Express Special), they noticed two suspected parcel packets in luggage van of the train.
On opening the packets in presence of on duty commercial staff of New Alipurduar, Chinese made toys valued more than Rs 50,000 were found.
Immediately, the goods were seized and handed over to IPF/New Alipurduar for further course of action. The case was taken up under the relevant provision of Railway Act for false declaration of goods, Chanda said.
