Assam Chief Secretary – Jishnu Baruah has reviewed the COVID-19 situation and flood preparedness in Udalguri district.  

On Sunday, he held a meeting with senior officials of Udalguri district administration, which was attended by Udalguri Deputy Commissioner, Dr P Uday Praveen, Udalguri Superintendent of Police – Hiranya Barman, Joint Director of Health Services, Udalguri – Dr Tayebur Rahman among others.

Baruah emphasized on the need of carrying out vaccination on a “Mission Mode”, laying importance on cent percent vaccination of all health workers, police personnel, essential service providers, staffs of child care institution among other frontline workers.  

Baruah further instructed the district and police administration to take measures to prevent any gathering at public places and emphasized on the need of large scale COVID-19 testing including testing of all railway passengers.

During the meeting, the Assam Chief Secretary also enquired about distribution of rice under NFSA and PMGKY for the month and instructed the administration to ensure providing “Take Home Ration” to beneficiaries.  

Baruah also visited the Udalguri District Jail and the designated COVID care centre for jail inmates. He also visited the Udalguri District Hospital. 

Apart from the COVID-19 situation, Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah also took stock of the flood preparedness in the district.
