Jorhat Medical College and Hospital is hosting a three-day inter-medical college meet named Esperanza. The meet will conclude on Saturday.

The meet which started from Thursday, was inaugurated by Debajit Hazarika Principal of JMCH by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Six medical colleges are participating in this meet. Around 100 students have arrived from other colleges.

A group of boys and girls performed the college song, written by Amar jyoti Choudhury. Saurav Borkataky Superintendent of the JMCH delivered the welcome address. Mihir Goswami Professor of the college released a souvenir ”Esperanza-2018” at the inaugural function.

To mark the event, a walkathon and an awareness camp about eye donation was hosted. A street play was performed with the theme of AIDS awareness.

This was followed by a plantation drive and a blood donation camp.

After the inaugural ceremony an inter-college Debate competition named Soliloquy was conducted.

Students of Silchar Medical College, Assam Medical College (Dibrugarh) , Barpeta Medical College, Tezpur Medical College and Jorhat medical college participated in the meet
