Veteran Congress leader Nabin Chandra Buragohain, who was a former Rajya Sabha MP passed away on Friday. 

Nabin Chandra Buragohain breathed his last at his Jail Road residence in Jorhat on Friday due to old-age ailments.  

Nabin Chandra Buragohain was 98 years old at the time of his demise. 

Buragohain was also a long-time president of the Jorhat district unit of the Congress, a senior member of Jorhat Bar Association and also a former principal of Jorhat Law College.  

Nabin Chandra Buragohain was also a former Chairman of Jorhat Municipal Board.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son besides a host of relatives. 

Buragohain originally hailed from Pirakota Gohaingaon in Teok in Jorhat district. 

Nabin Chandra Buragohain completed his LLB degree from the Aligarh Muslim University. 

Congress party along with number of organizations and individuals have mourned his demise.
