Assam on Friday reported 80 more COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The new deaths have pushed the State’s COVID-19 death toll up to 2819.

Moreover, the State has logged over 5400 new cases on Friday.

As many as 5436 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam in the last 24 hours.

These new cases were detected after carrying out tests of 122977 samples.

What’s relieving is the fact that Assam’s positivity rate has further dropped to 4.42 percent.

Of the new cases detected in Assam, 595 cases have been detected in Kamrup-Metro district.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 recovery rate in Assam currently stands at 85.47 percent.
