Senior journalist Dhruba Mahanta has been appointed as principal press secretary to Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Mahanta is a consulting editor of the Assamese news channel News Live.
Mahanta will serve as the principal press secretary to the chief minister pending the finalization of the terms and conditions of his service, said a notification issued by CMO on Friday.
Journalist Naba Patgiri has been made officer on special duty (communication, public relations and protocol).
Gautam Prasad has been appointed as the personal secretary to the chief minister.
