Resort politics seem to have gained momentum in Assam ahead of results day.
With less than 10 days left for the Assam Assembly elections results to be declared, resort politics in Assam seem to have picked up pace in the State.
The Assam Congress has shifted at least 40 candidates of the party to the Dichang Resort located at Sonapur near Guwahati.
Among those shifted to the Dichang Resort include Rupjyoti Kurmi, Wajed Ali Choudhuri and Siddique Ahmed.
Senior Congress leader Debabrata Saikia also arrived at the Dichang Resort on Thursday afternoon.
Debabrata Saikia however said that the Congress leaders have arrived at the resort only for a small “get together”.
Assam Congress president Ripun Bora arrived at the Dichang Resort late on Wednesday evening and is personally looking into the shifting of candidates.
The Congress candidates are entering the resort premises through gate number 4.
Results of the Assam Assembly elections would be announced on May 2.
The Congress candidates are being shifted to the Dichang resort fearing poaching of their candidates after the counting of votes for the Assembly election on May 2.
Notably, another partner in the Mahajot, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), has reportedly shifted its candidates from Assam to an undisclosed country foreseeing poaching by the BJP.
