Police have arrested two suspected smugglers and recovered narcotics in two separate operations in North Assam’s Lakhimpur district.

Police recovered 13.43 grams of heroine from the possession of one Hiranya Doley alias Chatyandra Doley of No 2 Parbatipur Banderdewa under Bihpuria Police Station on Monday evening.

One mobile phone along with Rs 33,700 of cash was also recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.

In another operation, a total of 66.07 grams of heroine was recovered from one Dananti Doley, wife of Pabitra Doley of Dihiri Jiadhol of No. 2 Parbatipur (near Ganga-Jamuna mandir) under Bihpuria Police Station on the same day.

Cash of Rs.1, 38,200 and one mobile phone was also recovered from the arrested woman.
