Four athletes from Meghalaya have been selected as part of the Indian contingent for the 3rd International Martial Arts Tournament.
The tournament held in Bangkok in Thailand from March 12-22, 2018 at Nimibutr National Stadium.
The four athletes, Jarmin Sangma, Creatwind Ch Momin, Francis Majong and Lasarus Rongchang will be led by martial artists, Bicham K Singha amd Gome Thapa.
Singha and Thapa are a part of the Global International Martial Arts Federation (GIMAF). A group of 21 persons will be travelling to Thailand including the participants. There will be more participating countries this year in the tournament, said one of the officials.
Jarmin said that they are confident of putting up a good show and hopes that they will bring back the glory of the country. He stated that they have prepared hard for the tournament and asked for the good wishes of the people.
The young athletes had earlier also brought glory to the country and Meghalaya and is working to do the same this time. The team left for Thailand on Sunday evening.
