The Sikkim Government has decided to impose night curfew, as cases of COVID-19 has shown a spike in recent days.
Night curfew will come into force from Thursday night across Sikkim.
This was informed by Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang.
Night curfew will come into force after 10pm.
All restaurants, bars, discos, pubs and gyms will have to close by 10pm across the State.
On the other hand, vehicles too will be barred from plying in the state after 10:30pm.
Sikkim CM PS Tamang further appealed to the people of the State to regularly wear masks and continue to follow social distancing norms as per COVID-19 protocol.
“I appeal to the people of Sikkim to regularly wear masks and continue to follow social distancing and the COVID protocols to remain safe,” said PS Tamang.
“Further, we have decided to commence with the night curfew after 10 pm including Restaurants, Bars, Disco, Pub, Gym etc, while vehicular movements will not be allowed after 10:30 pm, with immediate effect,” added CM Tamang.
The Sikkim Government issued the instructions soon after CM PS Tamang attended the video conference of PM Narendra Modi with the chief ministers to review the situation arising out of the recent increase in COVID-19 cases across the country.
