Former Assam chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta was admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati early on Friday morning after he complained of chest pain.
Family sources said the 68-year-old senior politician was rushed to the city’s Downtown Hospital after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness.
The hospital authorities, however, have not yet shared any details on his health status.
Earlier in September last year, Mahanta, a diabetic, was hospitalized in Guwahati after complaining of “very high pressure”.
Mahanta is the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) MLA from the Barhampur Assembly constituency in central Assam’s Nagaon district.
