The State Task Force (STF) on COVID-19 held its second meeting on COVID-19 vaccination drive, under the chairmanship of principal secretary, health and family welfare, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare in Kohima on Tuesday.

Stating that the State is all set for COVID-19 vaccination, Bhatia said that the vaccination will be done in a phase manner.

Bhatia urged all the Departments concerned to actively participate in the vaccination drive and also disseminate clear instructions in all the districts.

Bhatia informed that 26,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be supplied by the Serum Institute of India (SII) to Nagaland for vaccination of the prioritised beneficiaries, including health care workers of the State Governments and Central armed forces, in the initial first phase.

The STF meeting also deliberated on the roll out of the vaccine in the first phase and the role of all stakeholders in the State-wide campaign.

It also discussed preparedness in all the districts, the specific roles of all departments and faith-based organisations and also the role of directorate of information and public relations for creating appropriate awareness and Information Education Communication activities.
