A total of 65 teachers and 10 non-teaching staff members have tested positive for Covid-19 in Nasik in Maharashtra.
The Nasik health department had conducted RT-PCR tests of 7,063 headmasters and teachers and 2,500 non-teaching staff members ahead of the reopening of schools in the district on Monday.
Classes for students of classes IX to XII resumed in the schools of Nasik on Monday.

The schools have remained closed for more than nine months in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
There are about 1,324 schools in the district and about 846 among these resumed classes for students of classes IX to XII, a statement released by the Nasik district administration said.
About 1,21,579 students attended schools on Monday, though many parents and guardians of apprehensive of sending their wards to school in fear of their getting infected by the novel coronavirus.
As per the new norms, 50 per cent of the students will attend classes on one day and the remaining half will come the next day.
The schools are also to strictly follow all Covid-19 protocols such as sanitization of schools, thermal scanning, use of masks and hand sanitizers and maintaining social distance to prevent further transmission of the disease.
