War of words has escalated ahead of the second phase of Bodo Territorial Council polls.
UPPL president Pramod Boro on Monday launched an all-out attack on BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary, while campaigning for the second phase of polls for the Bodo Territorial Council.
He said that Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF has failed to bring sustainable development and welfare in the Bodo Territorial Region (BTR) in the last 17 years.
“The people, especially residing in the northern part of the BTR have been utterly neglected. People living in the Indo-Bhutan border areas have been facing severe drinking water crisis. But in the last 17 years, Mohilary-led BPF failed to address their issues,” Pramod Boro alleged.
He further alleged that the BTR lacks proper health infrastructures.
Schools in remote areas lack of basic infrastructures, he said.
He said that the indigenous people of the BTR had not yet received land pattas.
Pramod Boro while campaigning assured the people that it UPPL is voted to power, it will ensure that the people get land pattas within six months.
He said, “All communities want to live peacefully with dignity and honour but the BPF Government failed to give security to people.”
Boro further went on to say that hundreds of unemployed youths of the BTR have been leaving to different cities across the country in search of jobs as the BPF government failed to create jobs opportunities and set up industries for the unemployed youths.
He assured that if the UPPL is voted to power, it will create jobs by taking up new policies and establishing industries in the BTR.
Pramod Boro also announced that the UPPL will provide Rs 75,000 to each Self Help Group in a bid to uplift the economic condition of women.
The UPPL president also alleged that the BPF leaders and grass root workers of the party were involved in embezzlement of money meant for job cards, old age pension and PMAY houses.

He said that all scam stars of the BPF would be jailed if UPPL comes to power.
“I am not a leader but a simple worker. Give me a chance to serve you”, Pramod Boro said.
Notably, first phase of polling for the Bodo Territorial Council ended on Monday at 4:30pm.
On the other hand, second phase of polling is scheduled for December 10.
Counting of votes will take place on December 12.
Notably, elections to the Bodo Territorial Council is being dubbed as the semi-finals to the 2021 Assam Assembly elections.
