Dibrugarh in upper Assam is gearing up for Master Plan – 2045.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday attended a public meeting convened by Dibrugarh Development Authority and Dibrugarh Town & Country Planning.
Chief Minister Sonowal attended the public meeting in a bid to take views and suggestions of the people of Dibrugarh city in regards to the Master Plan – 2045.
Sonowal appealed the people of Dibrugarh to put forward their views, ideas and suggestions in regards to the plan.
The Master Plan is being prepared keeping in view the possible population growth, changes in demography, road connectivity, residential, commercial and industrial area expansion and other aspects of development till 2045.
Nektor Engineers & Project Consultants (NEPC) has been entrusted with the task of preparing the Dibrugarh Master Plan-2045.
The plan will be prepared keeping in view all the possible changes that might take place in next 25 years and to keep provisions for modification in the future if need arises.
The NEPC also presented a data based report with power point presentation regarding progress of preparation of GIS-based Master Plan-2045 for Dibrugarh, Assam.
The Master Plan would cover an area of 401 sq km of Dibrugarh town and its adjacent areas.
The master plan will be prepared keeping in view the fact that Dibrugarh and its surrounding areas have several vital installations like the Dibrugarh Airport and other installations of police, para-military forces and Indian Army and the restriction associated with those areas.
