Miscreants have injured two people on the Demdum-Saikabari Road in Kumarghat in Tripura on Saturday night for not paying a ransom of rupees 50,000.
The victims, Durga Prasad Kurmi and his driver Deo Kumar Rabidas were reportedly beaten and thrown into the gorge along with their vehicle.
An auto driver passing through that way on Sunday morning spotted Rabidas lying on the street. He picked him and got him admitted to the Kamalpur Hospital in Kumalpur.
Later Kurmi was also rescued from there.

According to sources, Kurmi, a resident of Sonarai in Kamalpur was returning along with Rabidas from Silchar to Kamalpur on Saturday night, when their vehicle was attacked by a few unidentified youths.
They reportedly took the due to a slum nearby.
However, residents of the slum noticed them and asked the youths to release them.
The miscreants then brought the victims to the street, thrashed them and threw them into the gorge.
The incident has left residents of the areas worried as instances of kidnapping are on the increase in the state.
In a similar incident, Litan Nath, a businessman dealing in fish was abducted from Damchera of North Tripura district on the night of November 27.
So far the police have not been able to trace his whereabouts.
