The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Saturday released its manifesto in Kokrajhar for the BTC polls scheduled to be held on December 7 and 10 next.

Boro highlighted of the party’s agenda for all-round development of the region in the coming five-year span if it comes to power in the BTR.

He assured to work wholeheartedly for implementing each and every promises which have been made in the election manifesto.

The UPPL chief also urged the voters of the region to vote for the UPPL party and replace the corrupt, authoritative, violent, unjust and unpopular government.

“As a strong wind of change is blowing across BTR, all of us at UPPL party are confident enough to achieve resounding victory in the election to be held on December 7 and 10 next with absolute majority,” he said.

The party has promised hundred per cent implementation of BTR Accord, rehabilitation of all the surrendered members of the NDFB as per Clause 9 and 10 of the Bodoland Accord, establishing e-governance in the entire BTR, bringing permanent peace, unity and harmony in the region.

The UPPL further promised constructing houses for the homeless riot victims, formation of linguistic and religious development board for minorities, one-time grant to each women self-help group, improvement in health, education, human resource development, heritage and culture, agriculture, industrial sectors etc.

At the same time, UPPL has assured to frame a new land policy for BTR along with provisions for welfare of the journalists in the BTR area.

In its manifesto, the party stated that to ensure quality education it will set up Bodoland Education Mission, free Wifi zones in all the colleges, universities, ITI etc., and free of cost IT training facilities in all the village councils for common masses.

It further stated that it will set up a Bodoland Tea Board to bring all the small tea gardens under one umbrella and facilitate worldwide marketing of tea products of the region, set up Bamboo Development Mission to harness the potential of bamboo industry in the region.

The manifesto also stated that it will launch Swachh BTR Abhiyan for open defection-free BTR within 2025 by ensuring ‘One family one toilet’ besides it will set up a number of Skill Development Mission (SDM) in towns and villages for job-oriented courses to promote skill education and ensure livelihood if UPPL comes to power in the region.

UPPL also stated that it will formulate an effective BTR revenue policy to generate at least Rs 1 crore internal revenue from different sources.
