Tripura Congress president Pijush Biswas has claimed that there is in-fighting within the state BJP and that seven BJP MLAs are in contact with him.
Biswas said this while attending a condolence programme organized in Udaipur on Friday by the Congress Gomoti District to pay tribute to former three-time Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi and Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who had recently passed away.
Biswas said, “I had a discussion with these seven BJP MLAs of the state, who are unhappy with the present state of affairs of the saffron party.”
However, he refrained from revealing the names of these MLAs.

“There is in-fighting within the state BJP and the present state government will soon fall,” said Biswas.
In reaction to Biswas’ claims state media in-charge, Victor Shome said, “We have no problem if seven BJP MLAs have been in touch with Pijush Biswas, who is a lawyer. Anyone can contact a lawyer. Perhaps when the MLAs spoke to him, he misinterpreted the matter as the state congress president.”
Victor said that Biswas’s tall claims will not motivate his party members, while the Congress national president is always in a party mood.
There have been reports of internal strife within the ruling state BJP with MLAs and senior party leaders being displeased with the present leadership of the state, especially chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
They had even gone to Delhi in October to meet BJP national president, JP Nadda and other senior party leaders to discuss the issue.
BJP MLAs from the rebel group also went to Guwahati on Friday to meet North-East Democratic Alliance chairman, Himanta Biswa Sarma regarding the present condition of the party in Tripura.
