The health condition of former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi, who is on ventilation support at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) further deteriorated on Monday morning.
GMCH superintendent Abhijit Sarmah on Monday morning said that the veteran Congress leader is extremely critical.
“Let’s hope for the best but he is still very critical today,” he said.
Gogoi’s son and Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and daughter Chandrima Gogoi are beside him in the hospital on Monday.
Special prayers and pujas are being organized at different places of the state by his followers wishing his recovery.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who visited the GMCH on Monday morning, to take stock of the former chief minister’s health, said almost all of his organs are not responding.
