Assam’s Covid19 tally increased to 2,10,696 and the death toll rose to 966 with the detection of 242 new cases and 2 more fatalities.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 status on Tuesday night said the new cases were detected out of 24,637 tests.
The state’s positivity rate stands at 0.98%, Sarma said.
“242 Cases detected out of 24637 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 0.98%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 66 cases.
So far a total of 357 patients have been discharged after their recovery from the disease.
According to the data shared by the health minister a total of 2,06,398 patients have been discharged after their recovery which is 97.96% of the total cases.
Assam currently has 3329 active Covid19 cases which 1.58% of the total cases.
The state’s death rate is 0.45%.
Informing about the demise of the Covid19 deaths on Tuesday, health minister Sarma said: “Sad to share the demise of 2 #COVID patient today”.
The deceased have been identified as Lilima Dutta (65) of Tinsukia and Chitra Ranjan Sarkar (77) of Goalpara.
