Assam finance and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday inaugurated several projects including a multi-level car parking lot at Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.
The total cost of the projects, inaugurated by minister Sarma on Tuesday, is Rs 30.70 crore.
The inaugural programme was also attended by Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Queen Ojha and Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) chairman, Jayanta Malla Baruah.
While the work of the multi-level car parking lot has been completed, the works of the other projects are still going on, the minister informed.
“With the blessing of Ma Kamakhya, inaugurated projects worth Rs 30.70 cr at Kamakhya Temple in #Guwahati today. Among these, Multi Level Parking has been completed & several other projects are under construction. ATDC Chairman @jayanta_malla & MP @oja_queen present,” Sarma tweeted.
It is expected that the multi-level car parking system will be able to solve the problem that the visitors and tourists have been facing for long while visiting the Kamakhya Temple, which is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas.
Minister Sarma, who represents the Jalukbari constituency as an MLA, also offered prayers in the temple.
