Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has cancelled the optional subject ‘Social Works’ examination held on Sunday in connection with the recruitment examination to the post of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO).
Candidates had protested after the ‘Social Works’ question paper had questions related to Sociology and not the subject.
After the issue was raised by the candidates, the Commission had decided to immediately review the issue.
“The Commission reviewed the issues raised by the candidates who appeared for the optional subject ‘Social Works’ in connection with the recruitment examination to the post of CDPO and Allied Cadres under Social Welfare Department.
“Accordingly, the Commission decided to cancel the examination of the said subject only held on November 8 and hold the examination for the said subject afresh. It is reiterated that the candidates who appeared for ‘Social Works’ on that date will only be allowed to appear,” the Commission said in an order on Monday.
Further, it was informed that this decision will not affect the candidates who appeared in optional subjects other than ‘Social Works’.
Revised date, time and venue will be notified later on, the Commission stated.
The candidates had applied for the 73 vacant posts of CDPO.
