Dhubri Police have busted a gang involved in making fake certificates of several schools and selling each document for a huge amount of money.

Dhubri superintendent of police Anand Mishra said, “Acting on an input, one Mofidul Islam of Kaldoba Part III village under Agomoni police station was trapped while he was trying to deliver the fake certificates and mark-sheets to a person at Nandinipar under Golakganj police station.”

Mishra said, “And, on being led by the alleged accused, a raid and search operation was conducted at the premises of one Md Sofikul Islam of Xalghora village under Dhubri Sadar police station.”

“During the operation, one laptop, one scanner, one printer, some certificates and seals of almost all headmasters/principals of nearby schools were recovered and seized,” said Mishra.

The forged documents looked as good as the original ones, police said.

The police registered a case (No 1055/2020) at Golakganj PS under sec 120 (B) (Punishment of criminal conspiracy)/420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property)/465 (Punishment for forgery)/468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating)/471 (Using as genuine a forged document or electronic record)/473 (Making or possessing counterfeit seal, etc., with intent to commit forgery punishable otherwise) of IPC.

Police have arrested two persons in this connection while further investigation is on to catch all the members of the gang and those involved in this racket.
