Former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi is โ€˜out of dangerโ€™, panel of doctors attending him said on Tuesday, two days after he was hospitalized at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital in a critical condition.

They said Gogoiโ€™s health has improved to some extent and he has been removed from the non-invasive ventilator.

โ€œNow he is out of danger. However, we will keep him under observation for the next 24 hours. He spoke to his son (MP Gaurav Gogoi)โ€ GMCH superintendant Abhijit Sarma told reporters in Guwahati on Tuesday morning.

The three-time Assam chief minister complained of uneasiness on Sunday night, after which he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of GMCH.

85-year-old Gogoi was discharged from the hospital on October 25 after he recovered from the Covid-19 infection and other post-recovery complications after 60 days.

He was under observation of a team of nine GMCH doctors at his official residence.
