With 403 new positive cases and 6 more deaths recorded in the state on Tuesday, Assam’s COVID19 tally increased to 2,04,789 while the total fatality reached 914.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said the new cases have been detected out of 26,164 tests.
Assam’s positivity rate stands at 1.54%.
“403 Cases detected out of 26164 tests conducted today, with positivity rate of 1.54%,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district has reported 87 cases.
Meanwhile, 2,443 more patients have been discharged on Tuesday in the state after their recovery.
So far a total of 1,91,027 patients have recovered from the disease.
The recovery rate of Assam stands at 93.28%.
Assam currently has 12,845 active COVID19 patients and the positivity rate is 6.27%.

Assam registered 6 more COVID19 deaths on Tuesday and the fatality rate is 0.44%.
“Very sad and anguished to inform that 06 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease,” health minister Sarma tweeted on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Milan Chandra Das (50), Kamaleswar Das (43) of Kamrup Rural; Amlan Das (45) of Biswanath; Amarendra Kumar Sarmah (68) of Dibrugarh; Lakhi Kaku (45) of Golaghat and Ratan Agarwal (52) of Tinsukia.
“My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief,” Sarma said.
