Minister for social welfare minister Okram Henry urged all the stakeholders to support and co-operate in uplifting the social, economic and political status of women in the state.
Henry was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) at Kombirei Hall, DC Complex Imphal West on Friday.
MSCW chairperson Binota Meinam, Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education Manipur Chithung Mary Thomas, members of MSCW and others attended the function.
During the function, the minister distributed the prizes to the winners of the online essay competition.
On the occasion, the minister also inaugurated a national webinar titled “Customary Laws, Alcoholism, and Substance Abuse: A high voltage of domestic violence in North East India”.
Later in the afternoon, the Minister was also accorded a warm welcome at a reception ceremony organized by Imphal Municipal Corporation at Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal.
“We must all work for the inclusive development in the state,” Henry said.
