Reliance Jio continues to remain as the fastest mobile network with an average 19.3 mbps download speed, as per the data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
According to the latest data from the telecom regulator, in terms of upload in September, Idea cellular network, which is now known as Vodafone Idea, recorded the highest speed.
Idea Cellular network followed Jio with a download speed of 8.6 mbps while Vodafone recorded 7.9 mbps and Bharti Airtel 7.5 mbps.
Despite the merger of Idea with Vodafone, TRAI measured the performance of the two telecom service providers separately as the integration of networks of both the companies is currently on.
The report comes after a study, carried out in 49 cities in September by OpenSignal, a private firm.
The study declared Bharti Airtel having the fastest download speed across India.
As per the TRAI data, the average speed of all private telecom service providers rose in September compared to the data recorded in the month of August.
In September, the download speed of Reliance Jio network increased by 21% to 19.3 mbps from 15.9 mbps in August.
