Nagaland has registered 61 new COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s overall tally to 6,947.
Confirming the detection of the new cases, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Saturday said: “Update! 61 +ve cases of #COVID-19 detected today.”

The health minister informed that of the new cases, 43 have been detected in Kohima district, 12 in Dimapur, 2 cases each have been detected in Tuensang and Longleng districts while 1 case each has been detected in Mokokchung and Peren districts.
On Saturday, 33 more patients have been discharged after their recovery from the disease.
“Also, 33 patients have been recovered,” health minister Phom said.

While 27 patients have been discharged in Dimapur district, 6 other patients have been discharged from Kohima district on Saturday, the health minister informed.

According to the Covid19 Bulletin released by the Nagaland government, Nagaland’s total positive cases now stand at 6947, out of which 1,232 persons are still active.
A total of 5,635 persons have recovered from the disease in the state.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 12 positive patients so far in Nagaland while 59 positive patients have migrated out of the state.
In his briefing, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said as per the severity of symptoms, 1,173 active cases are asymptomatic, 46 mild, 11 moderate, one case is severe and one is on ventilator.
He said out of the 6,949 positive cases, 3,184 cases are from the armed forces/ police, 1,551 returnees, 1,848 traced contacts and 366 frontline workers.
Sinha said a total of 54,533 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 53,067 samples have been received.
Besides, 29,844 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 29,783 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 2,346 samples have been tested, he added.
